Things to Do with Kids in Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs

  • Guide

In this blog, I am sharing 15 Things to Do with Kids in Harrison Hot Springs and Agassiz. I went to Harrison Hot Springs twice years ago when I was in college and before I had my son. It is so good to be back here with my family and see all the beautiful views and sightseeing. It is truly the perfect family getaway.

1. Take pictures with Sasquatch Statue

We love hearing stories about Sasquatch and apparently, you can find so many Sasquatch statues here. While visiting the town of Harrison Hot Springs, be sure to look out for the multiple statues of the Sasquatch. It is claimed that there are several sightings of Sasquatch at Harrison Hot Springs.

2. Swim at Harrison Hot Springs Pools

At Harrison Hot Springs, there are five mineral pools. Since 1886, people have found comfort and healing in these mineral pools. There are adult pools and family pools. They also have indoor pools. The water is really warm and you can see the beautiful mountains view while you are swimming and soaking in the pools. Highly recommend checking these out. My 6-year-old also really enjoys the pool. For now, you can only access these pools if you stay at Harrison Hot Springs Resort. You can also do a pre-check-in and access the pool starting at 1 pm. Check-out time is at 11 am but you can still access the pool until 1 pm as well.

3. Stay at Harrison Hot Springs Resort

I really had a positive experience at Harrison Hot Springs Resort. From the customer service, beautiful view from the room, dinner and live music at The Copper Room, swim at the mineral pools and buffet breakfast with a view at Lakeside Cafe. We stayed at the East Tower, Lakeview room. I highly recommend the lake view because the view is just breathtaking. We also love the dinner with live music at The Copper Room.

In front of the resort, you can access Harrison Lake with less than 5 mins walk. My son loves playing with the water and sand. You can relax and enjoy the view while watching your little ones play.

6. Make sure to check out the Harrison Lagoon as well

Next to Harrison Lake, there is also Harrison Lagoon, so many people play in this area as well. It is also closer to the washrooms and showers.

7. Play at the pirate ship playground

Next to the lagoon, there are two playgrounds with a Pirates theme. It is so awesome to play at a playground with a beautiful backdrop.

8. Have a buffet breakfast with a view at Lakeside Cafe

Harrison Hot Springs Resort also offers Buffet Breakfast with some outdoor seating. From here you can see the breathtaking view while enjoying your breakfast.

You can also check out Spirit Trail, it is an easy walk if you have little ones. What is interesting is there are spirit masks on some of the trees. Something interesting to look at while enjoying your walk.

10. Check out Circle Farm Tour

It is a self-guided tour in Agassiz-Harrison. This self-guided farm tour is a celebration of all things farming. See cows roaming the fields, and watch artisan cheese and hand-crafted pottery in the making. Take a self-guided tour of a 1920’s living history historic site, explore a garden, and shop for antiques, home & garden décor. Smell fresh coffee being roasted and taste homemade dishes with locally sourced products, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, corn, cheese, raspberries, blueberries, and fresh veggies.

I ordered the Bellini for a drink and it is so good! Highly recommend. I ordered the crab cakes for the starter and beef tenderloin for the main course. I finish it off with salted caramel cheesecake. I really enjoy the food and drinks here. My 6-year-old also really enjoyed his chicken and finger. He also really enjoyed the live music.
